Case Content

The case simulator puts the participant in a simulated echocardiographic reading station.  Users will be presented with a series of cases for interpretation and/or measurement.  The available images are to be reviewed and then a report generated from a diagnostic tree with numerous possible comments, just as is done in the real world of echocardiography.

This is not a multiple choice quiz where the answer is present and you need to guess which one it is.

The learning premise:  you will remember that which you got wrong longer than that which you got right.  Users will have ample opportunity to learn from your mistakes.

Case improvements have been made to accommodate a wider audience, such as sonographers in training, cardiology fellows and non-cardiologists who conduct point-of-care echocardiography.

For example, Dr. Feigenbaum has developed a new module entitled "Introduction to Echocardiography" which is designed for everyone to learn the fundamentals of the science, from an academic overview of basic principles to interpret echocardiograms to a simulated echocardiographic reading station that presents a series of cases for interpretation and/or measurement. These improvements are now generally available to everyone.
